The spectacular Kyles of Bute
The area is a perfect escape, bordered by the uniquely spectacular Kyles of Bute and remote Loch Riddon to the South , and Loch Fyne to the West. On the coast, Tighnabruaich is the main town in the area, overlooking the Kyles of Bute to the Island of Bute and providing sailing and watersports and, together with nearby Kames, providing excellent hospitality.
Start the Cowal Way at Portavadie Marina
Portavadie, at the mouth of Loch Fyne is home to the new Portavadie Marina a, sailing centre with holiday accommodation and fabulous eating out. Portavadie is also the start of the Cowal Way and the ferry point to Tarbert. Colintraive provides an award winning Inn, The Colintraive Hotel and the ferry point to the Isle of Bute.
Glendaruel and the Kilmodan Stones
Further inland Glendaruel is famed for its tranquil scenic beauty with nearby Kilmodan Church housing a fascinating collection of historic stones. The caravan park at Glendaruel is a great way for families to have a relaxing outdoor break in this beautiful area.
